The History Of NHL Awards & Trophies

National Hockey League (NHL) is a professional organization of ice hockey teams in North America. In the beginning, NHL had four teams in Canada It comprises 32 teams of which 25 are in the United States and 7 in Canada. Women's role in the NHL

Marguerite Norris was the first female NHL executive who served as the president from 1952 to 1955. Interestingly she was the first woman whose name was engraved in the Stanley cup. Another fact to know is that Dawn Braid became the first skating coach for the Arizona Coyotes and became the first female full-time coach in the NHL.

NHL hosted the Outdoor Women's Classic in 2016, which was a scrimmage game between the Boston Pride of the National Women's Hockey League and the Les Canadienne’s of the Canadian Women's Hockey League.
